"On the Issues"

Here you will find my personal beliefs on the issues that matter most to Louisiana.

Abortion/Pro-Life:

I believe in the miracle of life that begins at conception. I believe the created life, fearfully and wonderfully made, has the right to life unless it poses the threat of death to the mother. I oppose tax-payer funded abortion and support overturning Roe v. Wade.

Gun Rights/Pro-2nd Amendment:

I strongly support the citizens’ right to keep and bear arms, and the second amendment's protection of “shall not be infringed.” I believe individuals should have the right to defend themselves and their property. There is no evidence to support that gun control makes us safer. I believe only in sensible gun control to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally, while not infringing on law abiding citizen's access to purchasing firearms. I am a proud supporter of the National Rife Association.

The Economy:

The burden of excessive government regulations and taxation hinders the prosperity of most Louisiana citizens. The highest standard of living for all is created through free market system, competitive capitalism, and private enterprise. Free Markets produce more economic growth, more jobs and higher standards of living.

Government cannot solve all the problems of social ills and individual and human rights. I believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values (inalienable rights derived from Laws of Nature and Nature’s God). Freedom is necessary to pursue ones goals; therefore, government primary and foremost goal is to provide a citizens the freedom to pursue their goals. Government should promote and produce an environment for all individual men to be empowered to solve problems.

Education:

Support an education system that equips all children to become productive and self-reliant citizens of the United States of America. State education should incorporate aptitude test with the direction of fostering a well rounded education including ethics, character, communication and written skills, music, art, business math, life skills and technical skills. We need service workers including efficient plumbers, mechanics, electricians, machine operators, chefs, pilots, and etc. Skills can be taught in secondary education, gearing toward more community technical schools. College Degrees should emphasize degree programs that allow employment.

Environmental:

Guarding the preservation of those “waves of grain” and ‘purple mountain majesties” is taking responsibility for the impact we cause on nature. We must understand that stewardship of the land honors nature as both bounty and beauty. Just as I believe in punishing criminals for their crimes is superior to blanket gun-control regulation, I also believe those who pollute a stream should pay for the loss of clean water and opportunities to fish. One the issue of Climate Control, ultimate control is in the hands of Nature’s God. Climate Control problems have not been scientifically proven. Agenda 21 is an organization of the ruling class ulta elite promoting false information for a one world order; promoting propaganda that they do not adhere to.

Criminal Justice Reform:

Prisons should be more than mere people warehouses; it should be a real opportunity for redemption and second chances. I believe prison reform should start with early childhood classes in school and at the prison level, instilling a moral compass with sound ethical teachings (right and wrong). Teaching children should include manners, respect for mankind, knowledge of emotions and controlling their God given emotions while taking complete responsibility for actions. Also this morale responsibility teaching should begin in the home, continuing through formal education.

Welfare:

People are our most wonderful resource. I care about each and every individual. We all are a work in progress to reach our fullest potential and work in an excellent way to prosper ourselves, as well as others. My belief is that welfare was not intended to be a long-term fix; therefore, it should be a transition to work. Rather than allowing an individual to remain dependent on the government for provisions, it is far more compassionate and effective to encourage people to become self-reliant.

Healthcare/Medicare/Medicaid:

Government should not control healthcare. The question is who should pay for it, believing nothing is free and all need to contribute, I am in support of competitive, free market, healthcare. Free markets have the potential to drive prices down. The problem of uninsured individuals should be addressed and solved within the free market healthcare system. Free and low-cost government –run programs result in higher cost and everyone receiving the same poor-quality health care.

Private Property:

Respect ownership and private property rights. In most cases Eminent domain (seizure of private property by the government with compensation to the owner) in most cases is wrong. Eminent domain should not be used for private development. Citizens are forced to settle for less property value for the sale of their property, which is wrong.
